Water Usage
We all know this is one of the most important resources
we have. Water conservation technologies and strategies are often
the most overlooked aspects of a whole-building design. However,
the planning for various water uses within a building is increasingly
becoming a high priority. There are a number of strategies that
can be employed to reduce the amount of water consumed within a
building. More specifically, a wide range of technologies and measures
can be employed within each of these strategies to save water and
associated energy consumption.
Water-Efficient Plumbing Fixtures - Ultra low-flow
toilets and urinals, waterless urinals, low-flow and sensor sinks,
low-flow showerheads, and water-efficient dishwashers and washing
machines.
Irrigation & Landscaping Measures - Water-efficient
irrigation systems, irrigation control systems, low-flow sprinkler
heads, and water-efficient scheduling practices.
Water recycling or reuse measures - Gray water, process
recycling systems, and methods to reduce water use in HVAC systems. |
